Do you understand the Fall of Man?
It is how we answer this very question that establishes what and how we understand the Fall of Man. That man, in his natural state, is fallen. To this the great majority of Christians will agree. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so, death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" Romans 5:12. Now, here’s where it gets sticky. Very few today even know what “fallen” means! How far down is “Fallen”? So, to determine a Christians understanding of “fallen” is often a very difficult task. Re: Do you understand the Fall of Man?
I have thought about these two words and how they are used in the Psalms and in Proverbs.
Understanding and then Wisdom You may have one and not the other. Why?
As a fallen person can you be intelligent? Can you be a genious? Do you know of anyone that uses 100% of their physical brain?
If a person is really, really smart does that necessarily mean they are wise in God's eyes?
If Understanding means one who is able to apply knowledge to a task, where does wisdom fit in? How to do you acquire wisdom?
What did we lose in the fall of man that is the most obvious in discussions with people in general?
Food for thought, :D

Re: Do you understand the Fall of Man?
Knowledge is the accumulation of the facts
Understanding is the interpretation of the facts
Wisdom is the application of the facts
Holy Spirit filled Christians will eventually acquire all 3, it may take a lifetime, but we will acquire them.

Re: Do you understand the Fall of Man?
My understanding is that we can't even want to be good without the Holy Ghost; we're totally depraved in our natural state.

Re: Do you understand the Fall of Man?
Yes, that's it.
1. We're dead to Christ. 2. He brings us to life Life - GRACE. 3. We THEN receive FAITH. (Ephesians 2).
That's JOY.
