Post LLM Question of the Day for 2-18-2011
Here is the question: God is unknown, and unknowable, apart from Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh. True or False? Please respond at

And now the answer to the LLM Question of 2-16-2011

Question: Are we, members of the Body of Christ, prone to sidestep open doors of opportunity that God has set before us? Yes or No?

Answer: YES! So, Today let us consider, the Opportunities Given by God

"I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it" (Revelation 3:8).

This prophecy concerning the congregation at Philadelphia doubtless looks forward to a future day, but who can deny that it contains a lesson for our day?

When, in our walk through life, God sets before us open doors of opportunity, AND, He clearly intends us to enter them. The ONLY way to avoid entering an open door set before us would be to deliberately sidestep the opportunity. Alas, how prone we are to do this!

Amazingly, we often pray God for open doors when He has ALREADY set them before us and all about us.

We all should take the time to examine the record of the Apostle Paul's ministry and see how he thanked God for open doors (Acts 14:27; 1 Corinthians 16:9), grasping such opportunities as God set before him on every hand. He did not pull strings or ask his friends to use their influence to gain more comfortable or better-paying positions. He faithfully entered whatever doors God set before him. His best known requests for prayer for open doors came from Rome, where a prison door had closed behind him. Should not this put us to shame!

May God convict us of the inconsistency of praying for open doors while failing to enter the many open doors He has set before us! May He forgive us for being selective about working for Him! May He give us the Grace to take advantage of whatever opportunities present themselves to us, "buying up the time because the days are evil."

Post Today...The Light of the Knowledge of the Glory of God
"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us" (2 Cor. 4:6-7).

Any instructed Christian reading this passage from the pen of the Apostle Paul naturally goes back in his mind to the time when God first said, "Let there be light," and dispelled the darkness of the primeval world.

He might also recall the incident related in the book of Judges, when Gideon's army went to battle against the Midianites, each man with a sword in one hand, and a lamp hidden within a pitcher in the other. Following God’s orders, at Gideon's command the soldiers broke the earthen vessels and the lights shone out to strike terror into the hearts of the enemy, who could not account for the crash and the blaze of light at this midnight hour.

For every believer God has caused light, wonderful light, to shine out of the darkness and fill the heart, just as once He said to the dark and chaotic earth, "Let there be light, and there was light."

But we believers have come into "the light of the knowledge of the glory of God" by coming to know Christ. Our Lord rightly said, "No man cometh unto the Father but by Me" (John 14:6).

God is unknown and unknowable apart from Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh. It was He who lived a perfect life and then died a sinner's death in order to bring us into relationship and fellowship with God.
