Answer: TRUE! Therefore, Today let us consider, the Child of God and the LORD Jesus Christ

“And He is the Head of the Body, the Church; Who is the beginning, the first born from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18.

We can only touch on the glories of our LORD Jesus Christ and the eternal relationships between this One who is called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, and the redeemed sinner who is already seated with that glorious Saviour in the heavenlies. Ephesians 2:6. Isaiah 9:6.

When we learn that The LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is mentioned by noun and pronoun more than sixty-nine hundred times in the New Testament Scriptures, we see the impossible task of me trying to describe Him in our relationships in one short article. According to John 21:25, “even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written” concerning this One, who is called:

“The LORD of Glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:8.
“The Prince of Life.” Acts 3:15.
“The Brightness of God’s Glory.” Hebrews 1:3.

He was in the form of God. Philippians 2:6. He was with God. He was God. John 1:1-2. The Father said, “Let all the angels of God worship Him.” “Unto the Son He saith, ‘Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever”’ Hebrews 1:6-7. “Christ came, who is over all, God blessed forever” Romans 9:5. And Thomas said unto Him (Jesus), “My LORD and my God” John 20:28.

“He is before all things and by Him all things consist” Colossians 1:17. By Jesus Christ, God made the world and all things. Ephesians 3:9. In Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9. All judgment is committed into His hands. John 5:22. He knows all things. John 21:17. God hath appointed The LORD Jesus Christ heir of all things. Hebrews 1:2. Therefore the Son could truthfully say, “All things that the Father hath are mine.” John 16:15.

All of the promises of God are yea and amen in Christ Jesus. 2 Cor. 1:20.

This is the Saviour who was made after the power of an endless life. Hebrews 7:16. This is the LORD of Glory who for sinners was crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:8. Is it any wonder He could say, “I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death” Revelation 1:18. “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the LORD, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” Revelation 1:8.

The Scriptures, the Written Word, testify of Jesus Christ, the Living Word. John 5:39.

This Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church. Sinners saved by grace are members of that Body. “And they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and the Church” Ephesians 5:31.

The LORD Jesus Christ is the true vine and sinners saved by grace are the branches. John 15:1-8.

“Our LORD Jesus Christ who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him” 1 Thessalonians 5:10. This Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8. He is:

“The Shepherd and Bishop of our souls” 1 Peter 2:25.
“The Author and Finisher of The Faith” Hebrews 12:2.
“The Apostle and High Priest of our confession” Hebrews 3:1.

This is the Christ who died that “He should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad” John 11:52. “That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him” Ephesians 1:10. The believer is in Christ. Romans 8:1. 2 Cor. 5:17. Christ is in the believer. Galatians 2:20. Colossians 1:27.

The believer in Christ is accepted in the Beloved; he is complete in Him; is a new creature in Him and is free from condemnation in Him. Romans 8:2. Ephesians 1:6. Colossians 2:9. 2 Cor. 5:17.

The believer is a Joint‑Heir with Christ. Romans 8:17. So, if God hath appointed Christ heir of all things, what does it mean to be a Joint‑Heir with Him? Take a look:

“He is our Righteousness” 1 Corinthians 1:30.
“He is our Peace” Ephesians 2:14.
“He is our Sanctification” 1 Corinthians 1:30.
“He is our Saviour” Titus 1:4.
“He is our Passover” 1 Corinthians 5:7.

“He is our Hope” 1 Timothy 1:1.
“He is our Life” Colossians 3:4.
“He is our Resurrection” John 11:25.

He Himself said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life” “I am the Bread of Life” “I am the Light of the World” “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” “Before Abraham was, I am.” “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”

He is the ONE Mediator between God and men. 1 Timothy 2:5. And, NOT Roman Catholic Priests, or Mary!

He is the Good Shepherd; He is the Great Shepherd; He is the Chief Shepherd. John 10:11 Hebrews 13:20. 1 Peter 5:1-3. Therefore Christians say along with the Apostle Paul, “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our LORD Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Galatians 6:14.

All of the Eternal Purposes of God are centered in that Only Begotten and Well Beloved Son with Whom He was well pleased; that One who was ever the eternal bosom‑companion of His Father; and not only that, but they are centered in that cross of Calvary where that Son, obedient unto that cruel death, was made sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

We will be singing His praises for all eternity and will never tire of hearing of His glories. “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom and strength, and honour and glory and blessing” Revelation 5:12.

So we are rejoicing in the fact that we are serving and worshipping a LIVING (NOT still on the cross), resurrected, glorified Saviour, who is our Advocate at God’s right hand, where He ever liveth to make intercession for those who are saved. But let us remember that it is one thing to know Him as the Saviour from the penalty of sin, while it is something different to daily acknowledge Him as LORD, knowing Him with the Apostle Paul in the fellowship of His sufferings and in the power of His resurrection. Philippians 3:10.

As Disciples of Christ, we are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. And surely NO Christian can consistently be a member of any fraternal organization whose members dishonor our LORD and/or deny His Deity.

“All men should honor the Son even as they honor the Father” John 5:23.

Let us never receive the teaching of any man or woman, that the eternal Christ was the “creation” of the eternal Father before the world began. The LORD Jesus Christ of the Bible said, “He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father” John 14:9. After the order of Melchisedec, Christ is without father or mother, beginning of days or end of life. Hebrews 7:3. He is pre‑existent, co‑existent with the Father and self‑existent. He was called “God” by the Father.Hebrews 1:8. Romans 9:4-6, 1 John 5:20. Isaiah 9:6. John 1:1-3.

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist” Colossians 1:15-17.

It has been truly said that there would NOT be so many unsaved, religious church‑members, heading for Hell, labeled as ‘Christians’, if there were not so many carnal, worldly, compromising saved people who are members of one of the three hundred or more sectarian church-organizations, called denominations.

It has ALSO been truly said that there has never been a time in this country when, on the one hand, more servants of the LORD were preaching the Gospel of Christ over the Internet, by T.V. and Radio, and otherwise, and when, on the other hand, there was so, much real apathetic indifference, as to spiritual things, on the part of unsaved people who are headed for the wrath of God.

It has been observed by many church historians that multitudes have been spiritually indifferent during the seasons of unusual material prosperity. Others have stated that eighty percent of the people, who are really born again and become members of the one true Bible Church of this Age and Dispensation of Grace, ‘the Body of Christ’, receive God’s saving Grace and His Son either as children or in the time of adversity or real trouble.

Then again it has been often said by God’s servants that Satan has caused many really saved people to doubt their salvation, and many unsaved people to feel secure without regeneration. Satan is accused of the crime of deceiving the whole world. (Revelation 12:9). The Apostle Paul was directed by the Holy Spirit to write, “I fear, lest by any means, as the Serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds, should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Cor. 11:3). Satan did such a deadly work in Eden that we read in 1 John 5:19, “we (Christians) know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one (in the lap of Satan).”

If the Christian is to stand against the tricks of the clever devil, he must put on the ‘whole’ Armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-20), and resist Satan steadfastly in the Faith (1 Peter 5:8-9).

When we read in 2 Cor. 2:14 concerning Satan, “we are not ignorant of his devices,” we should read with this 2 Cor. 11:13-15, “Such are false apostles, deceitful workers, ‘TRANSFORMING THEMSELVES INTO THE APOSTLES OF CHRIST’; And no marvel: for Satan himself is transformed into ‘AN ANGEL OF LIGHT’.” He sends out his ambassadors as ministers of righteousness.

The Bible foretold that these camouflaged religious messengers would creep in to the Body of Christ ‘unawares’. (Jude 4). Many of them are very sincere, VERY religious, philanthropic, benevolent, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. They use Christian terminology and Bible phraseology to propagate what has been called “christianized agnosticism.” They deny the LORD that bought them, which God calls ‘the damnable heresy’. (2 Peter 2:2). Many are following their pernicious ways. (2 Peter 2:2). Of course, Spirit-taught Christians know that a ‘Christian infidel’ is an impossible paradox.

As ‘COMMUNISM’ is ‘ANTI‑GOD’, so ‘MODERNISM and every (so‑called Christian) METAPHYSICAL CULT is ‘ANTI‑CHRIST’, described in 2 John 7-11, as deceivers, who abide not in the doctrine of Christ, and have not God. God warns His people that their religious works are evil deeds, and NOT to support them in any way. Then we have many ‘ANTI‑GRACE’ movements carried on under the leadership of RELIGIOUS men who are steeped in ‘RITUALISM’. Satan knows that, with HEATHENISM and COMMUNISM, and with MODERNISM and RITUALISM and SECTARIANISM and the METAPHYSICAL CULTS and WORDINESS in the denominations, and with many of his agents, ministers and servants preaching another Jesus and another Gospel (2 Cor. 11:3-6), he has most of the members of the human race where he wants them.

It is sad, but true, that many spiritual Christians do not have assurance, and hesitate to join in the “WE KNOWS” of 1 John 3:14, 2 Cor. 5:1, and 1 John 3:2. “We KNOW that we have passed out of death into life”, “we KNOW that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house eternal in the heavens”, “we KNOW that when Christ shall appear, we shall be like Him.”

We certainly should know that we are not going to be with Christ forever in glory, because we are worthy, but because HE is worthy. When we are saved by Grace, and know it, boasting is excluded. (Romans 3:27, and Ephesians 2:8-9). Spirit taught members of the Body of Christ “worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” (Philippians 3:3).
