I am countering you on your TIMING of the writing of Hebrews. You had earlier stated that Hebrews had been written WELL INTO the Dispensation of Grace, and that is just not the case. "Well Into" being the disputed point.

Also, as to the quoted of others. Imagine you and I meet for coffee. We sit down, and I ask you, "How are you?" And you proceed to have me listen to the radio, in order to find out how you are. Then have me read the paper to answer another question...Never actually conversing with me yourself.

My older brother, had a habit of doing this, until I threw his books out the window...lolol

I concede the point on the timing of Hebrews. And I apologize for all the quoting! I admit the "copy and paste" button is a big temptation! LOL I am interested on what you said about the dispensations run concurrently. How can there be two dispensations in place at the same time? Ive read this idea before and I must admit it doesnt make sense to me.

The Dispensations overlapped through the Book of Acts because of God's love toward Israel. He proceeded to warn and warn again and again, JUST as He did through the Prophets of the pending destruction and captivity of Babylon. Then the day came. Just as it did when the Book of Acts concludes so suddenly after the THIRD quoting of Isaiah 6:9-10. (Matthew 13:14-15, John 12:40, and Acts 28:26-27)

Well that would seem to explain Paul's alleged "mistake" in taking a jewish vow. I am not sure why Hebrews 6 is so important to me to understand. Somehow it seems to be a key to something else, in other words if I have the right understanding of it, other things in the Bible will fall into place. Right now Im basically torn between the "hypothetical" view and the "threshold of salvation" view. How do you see this passage?

Post Re: Hebrews 6:1-6 and the Body of Christ
First off, who is the "THEY" of Hebrews 6:6?

OK, so, here, the warning that is given is that IF, after accepting Jesus the Nazarene as the Christ/Messiah and LORD, "THEY" go back to Judaism, "they" cut themselves OFF! Now see Galatians 5:4.

"They" cut themselves OFF because there is no OTHER Messiah to be looked for. And, by rejecting Jesus "they" put Him to open shame.

Just as ALL scripture was written FOR us, NOT all scripture was written TO us, so is this. Therefore, though the warning's interpretation is for apostates who return to the religion of Judaism, the application of the warning is to ALL who PROFESS to Believe.

Now this is important to keep in mind, as Gentiles today are saved by grace, and have no DESIRE to turn to the sacrifices of Judaism for cleansing their sin, (as did the Hebrews and those of Galatians), no primary application of Hebrews 6:4-6 can be made to any member of the Body of Christ.

In Hebrews 10:26 we read, “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the Knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.” Some have read into this verse, “if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more forgiveness for sin.” The word “forgiveness” is not suggested; it is “sacrifice”. All the way through the Epistle to the Hebrews we are told that the once-for-all sacrifice, which Christ made on the cross, forever put away sin.

I have decided to do today's message on this topic, as it is an important one.

Thank you for your reply, it makes a lot of sense. Just one more question though. This has no application to someone going to a works-based religion (like Jehovahs Witnesses)?

You correctly called it a religion as Jehovah's Witnesses has nothing to do with the LORD Jesus Christ, and Biblical Christianity
